Resposta curta

By December, I will have finished the book. Costuma vir com by, by the time ou before. O verbo have nunca muda e o particípio é igual para todas as pessoas.

Regras de utilização

Como se forma

TipoEstruturaExemplo
Afirmativasujeito + will have + particípioShe will have left by noon.
Negativasujeito + will not (won't) have + particípioWe won't have finished by six.
PerguntaWill + sujeito + have + particípio? Will you have eaten by then?
Resposta curtaYes, I will. / No, I won't.Will they have arrived? Yes, they will.

Os irregulares têm de se decorar: write → written, do → done, go → gone, see → seen, take → taken, eat → eaten, buy → bought, make → made.

Quando usar

  1. Ação concluída antes de um ponto no futuro: By 2030, he will have graduated.
  2. Ação concluída antes de outra ação futura: The film will have started before we get there.
  3. Prazos e metas: By Friday I will have handed in the project.
In June, they will have lived here for ten years.

by the time + oraçãoquando outra coisa acontecer, já...By the time you arrive, I will have cooked.
beforeantes deI will have packed before the taxi comes.

Depois de by the time, before e when, o verbo da oração temporal fica no Present Simple: by the time you arrive, nunca by the time you will arrive.

Comparação com estruturas parecidas

  • Future Simple: I will finish the report. (promessa ou decisão, sem referência a prazo)
  • Future Perfect: I will have finished the report by Monday. (já estará pronto até segunda-feira)
  • Future Continuous: At six I will be finishing the report. (a ação estará a decorrer às seis)

Exemplos resolvidos

Exemplo 1 — Formar a frase

Enunciado: Complete: «By next June, my sister ___ (finish) university.»

Resolução:

  1. By next June indica um prazo: a ação estará concluída antes.
  2. Estrutura: will have + particípio.
  3. O particípio regular de finish é finished.

Resposta: By next June, my sister will have finished university. Verificação: will have + finished; by marca o prazo.

Exemplo 2 — Verbo irregular

Enunciado: Complete: «By the time we reach the stadium, the match ___ (begin).»

Resolução:

  1. By the time + Present Simple (we reach) indica o momento futuro.
  2. Antes desse momento o jogo já terá começado: Future Perfect.
  3. O particípio de begin é irregular: begun.

Resposta: the match will have begun.

Exemplo 3 — Negativa e pergunta

Enunciado: A partir de «They will have repaired the road», escreva a negativa e a pergunta.

Resolução:

  1. Negativa: acrescenta-se not a will: They will not (won't) have repaired the road.
  2. Pergunta: will passa para o início: Will they have repaired the road?
  3. O particípio repaired e o auxiliar have mantêm-se.

Resposta: They won't have repaired the road. / Will they have repaired the road? Verificação: a ordem é sempre will, have, particípio.

  1. De 2016 a 2026 há 2026 − 2016 = 10 anos.
  2. O momento futuro é 2026 e a duração conta-se até lá: for ten years.
  3. work → particípio worked.

Resposta: By 2026, Dona Rosa will have worked in the market for ten years. Verificação: 2026 − 2016 = 10, e for acompanha a duração.

Erros frequentes

  • Usar o passado em vez do particípio. She will have went está errado: She will have gone.
  • Pôr will na oração com by the time, when ou before. Escreva by the time he comes, e não by the time he will come.
  • Esquecer have. I will finished está errado: I will have finished.
  • Confundir by com until.

1Exercício 1

2Exercício 2

Passe para a negativa: «We will have saved enough money by July.»

Ver solução

We won't have saved enough money by July. A negação entra em will; have saved mantém-se.

3Exercício 3

Corrija: «By the time I will arrive, they will have eaten.»

Ver dica

Qual é o tempo após by the time?

Ver solução

By the time I arrive, they will have eaten. Depois de by the time usa-se o Present Simple.

4Exercício 4

Escolha: «By 2030, he (will study / will have studied) medicine for six years.»

will have studied. O período é concluído até 2030. Em números: 2030 − 2024 = 6 anos, por isso a frase está correta.

5Exercício 5

Escreva três frases sobre os seus objetivos: uma com by, uma com by the time e uma com before, todas no Future Perfect.

Ver solução

Exemplo: By June I will have read three novels. By the time I finish school, I will have learnt English well. I will have done my homework before dinner is ready. Verifique: will have + particípio em todas e Present Simple nas orações com by the time e before.

Perguntas frequentes

Sim: I will already have left (já terei saído) e She won't have arrived yet (ainda não terá chegado).

É will have been + verbo-ing e realça a duração: By June, I will have been studying English for two years. É menos usado do que o Future Perfect simples.
